THE SOCIAL REINTEGRATION AND RESETTLEMENT OF INMATES PROGRAM

Social reintegration of inmates is a key program that has enjoyed a life span of over 65 years since the year inception of the organization

The inception of UDPAS was out of a need for help inmates who faced society resistances in accepting them back into their communities for crimes they committed, stigmatization of ex-inmates hardily offered them a second chance at life resulting in re-offending.

The program, therefore, attempted to address the following challenges faced by inmates in their attempt to:

  1. Activities for 2018 UDPAS was able to visit Kigo Prisons, Murchison bay prison, upper prisons stigmatization for their involvement in crime.
  2. Lack of viable economic ventures from which to earn a living
  3. Family disintegration as a result of family separation
  4. Lack of startup capital for restarting life.

As part of the program and Luzira women prisons to carry out and Remand prison to carry out counseling and guidance to 75 prisoners who are parents and guardians of our children on the program.

ACHIEVEMENTS.

Seventy-five prisoners were counseled and we shared life of Hope with them after prison.

CHALLENGES.

Inadequate facilitation in the face of many deserving inmates, UDPAS could have carried out a number of captivities to inmates for resettlement and reintegration but the budget could not allow.
